You should be aware that the majority of movies *are* cropped to widescreen, and, thus, fullscreen would technically show more. Despite the way some of those posts were sounding, this was hardly specific to Zemeckis. Almost all movies shot in 1.85 are actually shot at 1.33 (or so) and cropped for theatrical release, but they're also generally intended to be seen at 1.85; the viewfinder in the camera tells the director what that frame will be. A large percentage of 2.35 movies are *also* cropped, they shoot it on Super 35mm. That's a *lot* of cropping.

That said, it's often repeated around here, it's not about more or less picture, it's about the right picture. Watch 'Reservoir Dogs' fullscreen. Sure, you don't lose any picture, but do you really want *all* that dead space on the top and bottom of the frames? Personally, I think it's distracting.
